👉 Swipe to see ear mites up close 🦠 🐱 🐶 👂🏽 Ear mi 👉 Swipe to see ear mites up close 🦠 🐱 🐶 👂🏽
Ear mites are a common cause of itchy ears in both dogs and cats, especially kittens and puppies. These microscopic parasites live in the ear canal and feed on ear debris and skin, causing intense irritation.

Common signs include:
• Constant scratching at the ears
• Head shaking
• Dark, coffee-ground–like debris in the ears
• Redness, odor, or sensitivity when touched

Ear mites are highly contagious between pets and can spread through close contact, shared bedding, or grooming. Luckily, they’re very treatable with prescription ear medications and topical preventatives.

If you notice persistent itching or discharge, don’t ignore it—ear infections and secondary skin issues can develop quickly. A simple ear exam and cytology can confirm mites and guide treatment.

Healthy ears = happy pets 🐶🐱

Fleas aren’t just itchy! They can cause real healt Fleas aren’t just itchy! They can cause real health problems 🐜
Dogs and cats can be affected year-round, even indoor pets!

Why fleas matter:
• Intense itching and skin infections
• Flea allergy dermatitis
• Tapeworm transmission
• Anemia (can be very severe and require blood transfusions!)

How to prevent fleas:
• Keep pets on year-round flea prevention
• Treat all pets in the household, even if only one is itchy!
• Wash bedding regularly
• Maintain consistent prevention (skipping doses matters)

How we treat and manage fleas:
• Prescription flea preventatives (topical or oral)
• Treating secondary skin infections if present
• Environmental control when infestations occur
• Ongoing prevention to stop reinfestation

If your pet is scratching, losing hair, or you’ve seen fleas at home, early treatment makes a big difference. We’re here to help keep your pets comfortable and protected 🐶🐱

Not all worms are created equal 🪱 Cats and dogs ca Not all worms are created equal 🪱
Cats and dogs can be affected by several different types of intestinal parasites, and each one behaves a little differently.

Common worms we see include:
• Roundworms – very common, especially in puppies and kittens
• Hookworms – can cause anemia and GI upset
• Whipworms – often harder to diagnose, can cause chronic diarrhea
• Tapeworms – usually transmitted by fleas or prey animals
• Heartworms – spread by mosquitoes and potentially life-threatening

Many pets don’t show obvious signs at first, which is why routine fecal testing and year-round parasite prevention are so important. Protecting your pet also helps protect your family 🐶🐱

If you have questions about parasite prevention or testing, we’re always happy to help.
